Mr. George North homesteaded the land where this cemetery is now located. He gave land to be used as a cemetery.

This information was given by the great granddaughter of George North, Almeda Miller Johnston. Almeda also said that here grandfather and great grandfather Miller are buried in the Corinth Cemetery. There are no tombstones or markers for their gravies.

Mr. Harvey Long., Sr., who is buried in this cemetery, made many cement markers and placed them by the unmarked graves, even though he did not know the names of the people buried her. Although the graves cannot be identified, they can at least be found. Thanks to Mr. Harvey Long’s thoughtfulness and hard work.

  1. Cathe Post Marable

I have in my possession a contact from this out of Goodrich in the early 1900s with broaches and a gold bracelet. There is a lock of blonde hair and a photograph made into anither broach, of a man that i believe to be her husband. There is also an article where they applied for their marriage license on Christmas Eve (no.year provided) that us “glued” to the top of a rusty compact. I have all these belongings that must have belonged to your family. A very good friend of mine dug them up somewhere in Pope County, Arkansas and I wanted to return them to the family of these people. Mrs. Ida Goidrich myst have lived this man dearly. I’m very emotional right now because this is such a touching thing. There is a photograph of her husband made into a pin in and lock of his hair or I believe it would be his hair. There is a gold bracelet and there is.one other thing. It isba telegraph stating her sister Bessie passed away “last night” and the telegraph states they paid $10 to send fir her to come home to.missouri. i assume to attend her funersl. Its a obe way ticket so they must have wanted her to stay. (so sweet). I think thats all but there could be some other items that I am forgetting. This all rightfully belongs to your family from the turn of the century. If it were my family, I woukd want this stuff so badly. You’re going to be shocked. This is the most beautifully Untold love story told in trinkets. I can be reached on Facebook under Cathe Post Marable. Or call 479-886-1755. That is my ex-husbands number. His nane us jeith and will kniw my new number because im.in the middle of moving. I’m so excited to hear from you because I am dying to know the story of these people because they’re fascinating this is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen and I cannot wait to return it to its rightful owner. the only thing I ask is just the story of this couple.
