Because of the remote location of Eagleton, Sexton, Howard, Downs and Little Cemeteries, Bessie M. Little Gilbert wishes to share the following information.

She has lived in the Eagleton, Arkansas area for thirty-seven years. Her great grandfather was born in North Carolina, but moved to Lineloce County, Tennessee, then on to Westfork, Arkansas, finally settling in the Rich Mountain and Black Fork Communities in Polk County.

Angus Little, Bessie’s grandfather, is buried on Black Fork Mountain. Her father, Joshua Z. Little, and her Uncle, William Mark Little, are buried in the Eagleton Cemetery. John Robert Little, another uncle, is buried in Howard Cemetery.

Her uncle, Sam Little, who homesteaded the land on which the Black Fork Cemetery is located, is buried at Noshoba, Oklahoma in an unnamed and unmarked grave.

Jack E. Burk of Susanville, CA furnished information about the Burk family on 1/19/2005. He visited the graves in 1993 and 2001.
