Poplar Run Cemetery

Poplar Run Cemetery in Fleming County, Kentucky, has been in deplorable condition for decades.  In addition to the destruction nature slowly deals out, the cemetery has become victim to vandalism.  There was once a church named Poplar Run Baptist Church adjacent to the cemetery.  In 1868, this church's congregation merged with Flemingsburg Baptist Church.  The abandoned church was destroyed sometime later, and the cemetery became ownerless, which is its state today.  A brief history of Poplar Run Baptist Church and an enumeration of the cemetery may be found here.

Currently, some Caywoods are working together to see what can be done to save our ancestors' final resting place.  If you would like information on how to help, or have suggestions, please e-mail me at ScotStout@aol.com.

The photographs on these first three links are rather large, and so I put them on separate pages, but they clearly show the cemetery's current condition.
