Adair
At this time, very little is known of the ADAIR family. Sarah Caroline ADAIR, wife of Sherad W. Watson, had four brothers, at least one of whom (George) served in the Civil War. Sarah's father resided in Lawrence County's Current River Township as early as 1831, according to the Tax Lists (Randolph County was created from Lawrence County in 1835).

4. George W. ADAIR (b. ca. 1843, AR)
5. John H. ADAIR (b. ca. 1846)
On 28 March 1862, Sarah's brother, George W. ADAIR, who was apparently away from home fighting in the war, wrote a letter to Sarah and her husband, Sherad, their daughter "Sealy Ann", and Sarah's brother, John, complaining of having "plenty to eat and nothing to do." He also mentioned that there were eighty northern cavalry in town, but neglected to mention the town's name.
